Physician Assistant
Job Description
Render care under the supervision of the practice physician(s) and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. We need someone who can assume independent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of treatment and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
•Coordinates appropriate, timely patient care under physician supervision, for a defined patient population(s), focusing on identified expected unit/optimal outcomes individualized to the patient.
•Coordinates patient care between healthcare providers.
•Conducts comprehensive health assessments (initial, ongoing, discharge) identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care, initiates appropriate interventions, and evaluates care outcomes on defined patient populations.
•Performs delegated functions under physician supervision, such as differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and treatment according to practice guidelines, protocols, and/or standing orders. Accepts accountability for outcomes in healthcare.
•Performs invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures necessary for defined patient populations.
•Uses critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously as defined by the Board of Physicians Assistants. Collaborates with healthcare team members to manage/coordinate patient care.
•Assists physician with rounding of inpatients and coordinating their care. May also perform hospital consults.

•Graduate from accredited PA program and successful completion of National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination Licensed by the Texas Board of Physician Assistants (PA).
•Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas.
•Required minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
•Some Cardiology experience preferred.
